Fun Fact No. 1- Dance Floor Inspiration
1) We played this beautiful room called THE CLUB in Birmingham, AL. Film director John Badham ‘s family is from Birmingham, AL. THE CLUB has a big poster of Badham’s classic film, “Saturday Night Fever” on their wall. The story goes John B. was visiting THE CLUB and was inspired by the incredible dance floor for his own film.
Fun Fact No. 2- A Haunted Hotel
2) Every New Years Eve for the past few years, we have had the honor of playing THE READ HOUSE HOTEL in beautiful Chattanooga, TN. Did you know there is a haunted room you can stay in there? Room 311. If you’re into that kind of thing, make it your Halloween stop (and then come to the best NYE party in the world – seriously, they do it right!)
Fun Fact No. 3- Debutantes Rule!
3) Finally, we are honored to play for the Carolina Assembly Ball and introduce their beautiful debutantes to Charleston society (at the historic Frances Marion Hotel, no less). These days, the debutante role is more about honoring tradition – women no longer just stay at home and plan parties, after all. But the history of it all is eye-opening and taught me that, behind those pretty dresses and manners, women have always been the ones in control. Take a listen (click video link below…)
